Christmas is coming and there’s something amazing about spending the time waiting for the day to arrive doing fun and memorable things together with your family. Whether the activities are at home with your family or out in the community helping others, creating an attitude of giving and loving is one of the best things about the holiday season. Add a little fun to the holiday season with this printable Christmas countdown adventure.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Print out the following pages then cut out the 24 gift boxes.

Included are 48 different activities – some are family fun and some are acts of kindness, such as:

  • Go skating.
  • Make a gingerbread house.
  • Put candy canes in the neighbour’s mailbox.
  • Visit a retirement home and chat with the residents there.
  • Bake cookies.
  • Buy a gift for someone in need

Choose 24 activities from the options available to fit what works for your family, then cut them out. Glue those activities to the back of the gift cards.

If your family has a tradition that I haven’t included, write your own family’s favourite traditions on the back by hand. (For example, our family has banana bread every year for Christmas morning. That means we have to have a banana bread baking day sometime before Christmas!)

To use them, you can choose what will work best in your house: Hang them on the wall, put them in a jar to pull out at random, place one on the table to find each morning, or find another creative way to use them to make the countdown to Christmas fun.

Remember to take lots of pictures of your adventures together as you countdown to Christmas Day, and most importantly – laugh a lot.
