An Old-Fashioned Education

If you are looking for classic literature and living books, you can find a list of available online versions of public domain books at An Old Fashioned Education. Best news is – they are FREE!

The website has a huge and varied list of topics, subjects, and interests.

On the Canadian end of things, she has quite an extensive list of books – ranging from general Canadian interest  like what early pioneer days were like, chronicles of various Canadians, and outdoor nature studies. She’s graciously marked what reading level each book is approximately appropriate for.

There’s also a category for Canadian teacher guides, including readers, primers, spelling, art, nature studies, etc. Lots of early educational resources here!

Using the links provided sent me to a HUGE online Canadian resource and archive library. There is a LOT of information available for download here. It’s almost overwhelming – but what a resource!

Enjoy learning. I think I might spend the next few days reading through old texts and seeing what I can learn!
