If you do a search for kids’ craft ideas on just about any subject, there’s a really good chance that you will find one of the top results to be DLTK-kids.com.
DLTK stands for Darren, Leanne, Tasha, and Kaitlyn, a Canadian family team dedicated to providing parents, teachers and children with quality ideas for learning. They’ve got everything covered – just about any topic you can think of for a wide range of ages: 2-12. Their website has been around since 1998, when their youngest daughter was a baby.
Being Canadian, they have a great collection of Canadian based ideas – colouring pages, crafts, songs, printables and much more. But that is only one SMALL part of what you can find. There’s geography, history, sports, safety, scouting…. I’m going to stop the list because it will probably take up the full use of this blog post, but you get the idea….
They have a whole slew of sister sites as well:
DLTK-Bible: Focusing in Bible rooted crafts and activities, Sunday School Lesson plans, and more – including a seperate section just for Veggie Tales.
DLTK-Cards: Although titled Cards, this is actually more like a printables site. There ARE cards (which I have used on MANY an occasion!), but there are also coupons, gift tags, chore charts, dominoes, memory cards, etc, etc. Most of them have the option of printing in Colour OR in Black&White.
DLTK-Holidays: A section devoted exclusively to holidays. And not just the run-of-the-mill ones! At the bottom of the home page, you can see what unique and special holidays are coming up – like Wizard of Oz Day, or International Picnic Day. A great way to make your day special!
DLTK-Poems: A growing compilation of poetry for older children and students – which includes the option of printing poems.
DLTK-Teach: This website is a gold mine – especially for those of us in the homeschooling world. Seperated by topic, you can find worksheets, bulletin board ideas, crafts, games, poetry, puzzles and SO much more. It’s worth diving into the material available.
Kidzone.ws: Here is the DLTK curriculum suppliments – where you can find printouts and activities for each grade level on just about any subject. It’s a resource definitely useful to me as a homeschooling parent. It is ABSOLUTELY helpful and I HIGHLY recommend it! 🙂
I love that this website is all FREE, run by a FAMILY, and is useful! Oh, and that it’s webmasters are Canadian! 🙂

Another good site for homeschoolers is http://www.churchhousecollection.com It is a christian site, much like dltk-bible is, but with lots of stuff for the little ones to do to work on skills like coloring, crafts, reading, and other developmental skills.

As a long standing sunday school teacher I was looking for a simple story on God’s creation as found in Genesis 1 and 2 and I found one I really liked on your web site. Easy to read and full of good facts.
