Animal Classification {Printable} – A Matching Game

The challenge of this game is to learn about various animal classification. They have been divided up into 6 groups – Amphibians, Reptiles, Mammals, Fish, Birds, and Insects. All you have to do is match them up!

Animal Classification Game

How to play:

First, divide up your board (which can be a table, the floor, a poster board, etc) into six areas – using tape or string. Put an animal group name in each box.

From there, figure out what characteristic go with which group and then put the picture cards provided into the appropriate box that they belong to.

If you want to keep these for a while to reuse, you can laminate the cards to make them more durable.

Have fun learning about animal classification!

An answer key is found at the end of this pack.

    1. Hi Christie,

If you subscribe to my email list, then you will get access to all my printables, including this one. Once you have signed up, you will get an email with instructions on how to get to them all. I hope that helps!

  1. I’ve tried to subscribe to your website twice so that I can get this awesome game! However, the circle just turns forever and I can’t get access. Please Help!

  2. HI LisaMarie.
I have the same problem as Christie. I have subscribed, but can’t download the printable.
    Regards,
    Menke

    1. Hi Menke,

According to my email service, you should have gotten an email right after you confirmed that had all the instructions. However, I will message you right now.

      Sorry about the hassle.

      Lisa Marie.

    1. I’m sorry if it isn’t clear. I’ve added some more information to this post in hopes that it will make better sense.

To access this game, you need to subscribe to my emails and you will get an intro email with details on how to get it and all my printables. I hope that explains it better.

      Thanks for stopping by,
      Lisa Marie.

  3. I’m having the same issue Lisa Marie. I’ve already signed up before. Is there a tab to click if we need to just sign in, not sign up?

    1. Hi Rumana,
After you signed up, you should have gotten a confirmation email with a link to click. When you confirmed, then it would send you another email with info on how to access the printables library. Did you get that?
      Lisa Marie

  4. Hello! I signed up and got a confirmation email right away, so I clicked on the confirmation link and it took me to a page that says ‘Thanks for subscribing! Go look check your email for a confirmation link.’ Can you help please?

  5. Hi LisaMarie, I’m having the same problem as everyone else. Subscribed but no access to the printable. I’m stoked about it so would love your help! Thanks!

    1. Hmm, I wonder what’s going on then. I can’t seem to replicate the problem on my end! Gah! Sorry about the hassle. So you signed up in the box at the bottom of the post, then got a confirmation email in your inbox which you should have clicked the link to, which then should have sent you another email with the link and the password for the printables library. Did that happen?

    1. Ok, so after some investigative research, it looks like some people are having trouble, especially if they are on mobile, with the little graphics I’ve been using being limited so they can’t see them all! πŸ™ So Im going to change the page and I’ll have a list instead. I’m so sorry that everyone has been having trouble. πŸ™

    1. Hi Erin,

It looks like you are all signed up and that the email system sent you the email with information. Maybe it got filtered to spam. I’ll pop you an email quickly.

      Sorry about that.

    1. Hi there,

I see that you’ve signed up and received the email with information how to access the members printable library. Click the link the email and use the password that you see in that email and you will get to a page with all the printables listed. Just click on the ones you want to download.

      I hope that helps.
      Lisa Marie.

    Hi there,
This looks like a great resource but despite subscribing and entering the password given in the email I have not been able to print it. It keeps taking me round in circles, asking me to subscribe.
Your help would be much appreciated πŸ™‚

    1. Really? Gah. I haven’t been able to reproduce this problem and I wish I could figure out what’s going on for people! Let me email you and we’ll see what we can do!

I’m so sorry for the hassle.

  8. I’ve subscribed and gotten access to the printables library. I think the problem is that this worksheet is not actually listed in the printables library. If I go into the Science section, I can find it there and it will take me to this page again, but the problem is that there is nothing to click to get to the actual pdf on this page.

    1. I logged into the library and double checked and it is there. It’s under Games & More. It looks like it’s a .pdf file in the library. I’m not sure what is happening or what people are having trouble with. :/

  9. Hi, I have subscribed to your newsletter but am stil unable to access the Animal Classification game. Could you please assist?

  10. I subscribed but I still cant download the material. It is asking for a password. If you could help that would be great. Thanks

    1. Thanks for subscribing.

When you signed up, you should have gotten an email to confirm. That email contained the password and should have sent you right away to the library. You should have also gotten another email after you confirmed that also had the password and the link you need to access the library. Did you get either of those emails?

    1. When you add your name to the box on this page, you should get an email right away to confirm. That email will direct you to the printables library with the password that you need. I hope that you found it already!

  11. Hi, I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else. I’ve subscribed to the website but can’t find the printable to download either. I subscribed and got sent an email to confirm my login, which I did and typed in the password. It then took me to the printables page, but this animals classification handout isn’t there, I searched for it and clicked into it again and it asks me to subscribe and takes me round in circles, but can’t seem to download or find the actual PDF for it after subscribing. Anyway help would be much appreciated!

    1. Hey Eve. I promise – It’s there! It’s under the “Games & More” section above the Ontario Checklists. πŸ˜€ It’s called Animal Classification Game!

  12. I signed up and received the confirmation and follow up page with NO ACCESS. Is this a scam? I hope not I really would like to enjoy the resources from here.

  13. This was an amazing resource! We used it to introduce the unit and let students put the animals into different groups to see what their prior knowledge was. I plan on using it as a review at the end of the unit too. This is probably the best free resource ever! Thank you so much for sharing πŸ™‚

  14. I have signed up but I still cannot access the printable document from this page and it has not been emailed to me just the confirmation from signing up.
