LEGOQuestII: Metamorphosis

Lego Quest IIIt’s LEGO Quest time!

This month, your challenge is to design something to do with:

Metamorphosis means “Change” – like how a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, or how Transformers go from a vehicle to a robot.

Some idea jump-starters:

  • show the stages of a butterfly life cycle or a frog life cycle
  • make a model of something and then change it completely in appearance (maybe even using the same bricks!)
  • design your own Transformer or mutant hero like the Hulk!

You can use actual LEGO bricks, or the Digital Designer on your computer to build your creation.

This Month’s Designs

Well, apparently everyone is either enjoying the change of weather or just simply found this month’s LEGOQuestII theme challenging, because I got no entries for May.

I did find some amazing photos online with LEGO and metamorphosis, though.

For example, check out this amazing LEGO Monarch Butterfly from Bruce Lowell and this LEGO SwallowTail Butterfly by Sean Kenney.

Also, the original LEGOQuest had a week all about metamorphosis and you can see the designs that kids did that time.

Awesome challenge! What fun, and such a great way for the kids to spend their time – doing what they do naturally – create! I am definitely sharing this post!

Thanks so much for linking up with us last week on the homeschoollinkup!
