enRiched Academy

I remember when I was able to get my first credit card I was so excited. It was a big box store chain card and I loved being able to shop and not think about my bank account getting lowered. I was told “don’t worry you can pay it off later!”  I look back now and can’t believe that I didn’t know better!!  It took me years to pay off that small debt but led to other cards and debt and a spiral that had me working to pay off things I never actually needed. Had I known then what I know now, and am still learning thanks to enRiched Academy, I would have done things so much differently.

You may have seen enRiched Academy on an episode on Dragons Den where they managed to snag a deal.  On their website it says this DVD course “is the first of it’s kind to teach people about how to EARN, SAVE, INVEST (through Stocks & Real Estate), MASTER CREDIT and their CAREERS in a way that is totally entertaining and completely easy to absorb.”

My daughter and I were eager to start the course that they sent us to review. The first DVD was a great introduction to what we could expect throughout the course as well as a bit of background to the founders of the program. We listened intently and stopped it along the way to have some discussions about whatever caught our attention. She quickly understood what bad debt was and why we want to avoid it and was surprised at some of the statistics shown but was good to see the reality of the situations lots of families are in these days. The host, Kevin Cochran, showed great enthusiasm in what he was delivering to us and you could tell he was not only knowledgable and passionate about helping us learn to be financially stable. We had a lot of good conversations and learned a lot that I wouldn’t even think to teach her about had it not been for this program.

Here what some kids have to say about enRiched Academy:

The course cost is $149.99 including shipping, handling and taxes as well has a 30 day money back guarantee. For that you get:

  • 6 DVDs
  • 2 60+ Page Guidebooks (used to work through while watching the DVD’s)
  • 1 Financial Report Card (explained while watching the DVD’s)
  • 1 Marker (for filling out the Financial Report Card)
  • 1 Set of 10 Goal Cards (also explained while watching the DVD’s)

The DVD’s Cover the Following Topics:

DVD 1: Money Myths

DVD 2: Understanding Credit and Credit Cards

DVD 3: Choosing Your Career

DVD 4: How to Build Wealth – Part 1 Stocks

DVD 5: How to Build Wealth – Part 2 Real Estate

DVD 6: Goal Setting and Building Your Brand

All these topics are things I consider that MUST be taught to preteen and young adults and some adults who struggle with financial issues would also benefit from it. There were a couple of things that I saw as an issue for us and that was although Kevin was a passionate host he did speak rather fast and it was hard to watch the video as well as answer the questions. We had to stop the DVD too many times to try and remember what was said. Also it felt a bit like an informercial in some parts and their website also makes me think that.

Overall though I think it is a great program to help teach anyone, not just homeschoolers, about the importance of taking care of your financial life.

Happy Planning!

This is a great product. More and more students need to be taught about math skills and financial planning. Programs like this will help young people to better manage their money and not fall into the traps that most people do when they are young.

    I don’t understand here
Why do we need to pay $ to teach our kid how important is the credibility?
    This is a common sense
I ain’t no expert but I know how important is to save money for the future
Are all this a common sense?
It made sense to pay tutor to teach your kids because not everyone are same level in school or may be u don’t have the knowledge to teach your kids in the subject
But I don’t think we need to pay $ to buy a program and teach them how to save money
There’s no guarantee at all even after finished the DVD programs
I rather tell them and share the experience with them when they were young
Like at the age of 4 or 5
So days after days and I guarantee this will definitely have an impact on them
Cause children awe always look up to their parents
In order to buy a program (in this case)
We need to do a good example!!!
This is just my personal opinion and nothing to against the programs itself

      Hi Anthony,

You are right – it’s possible to teach your kids about money, saving, and credit without buying a curriculum or programs like this one. However some people don’t feel they have enough skills themselves or want to have an expert teach their children about something. This is just one option if it’s what your family needs.

      Thanks for your feedback!
      Lisa Marie.
