Canadian author, Jeanette Ramnarine, has written a kid-friendly book which explains the basics of finance with her book Four Little Piggies.

The book follows the story and choices of a boy named Caleb – the author’s son – during a year with his allowance. Using 4 piggy banks, Caleb is able to divide his allowance into spending, savings, sharing, and schooling categories.

The idea is to simplify the basics while teaching kids responsibility, ownership of their money, and planning for the future.

The book has received a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award and a Mom’s Choice award, much recognition and many rave reviews.
